Introduction

This guide is intended for developers creating Android Automotive applications targeting deployment in Renault Group vehicles.

Google’s Android for Cars UX requirements are the primary design reference. This guide does not replace or restate them. It presents only the additional Renault Group requirements and acceptance criteria that developers must consider when preparing an application for review.

Primary baseline

Developers must use Google’s official Android for Cars UX requirements as the primary design baseline:

Developers are responsible for identifying and applying all Google requirements relevant to their application category, templates, screens, content, and interaction model.

Relationship with Renault Group requirements

The pages in this guide describe Renault Group additions, quantified thresholds, implementation clarifications, and acceptance expectations.

For each delta:

  • Google baseline identifies the Google topic that the developer must review in the official documentation.
  • Renault Group delta states the additional or more explicit acceptance criterion applied by Renault Group.
  • Example illustrates an expected or non-compliant implementation.
  • Evidence for certification review identifies what the developer should provide to demonstrate compliance.

This guide intentionally links to Google rather than reproducing Google’s complete requirements. Developers should always consult the official Google page for the applicable and current wording.
